The battle is again beginning in North Carolina over the proposed NC Constitutional Amendment that mandates Voter ID. The Left would have you believe that the slight numbers of irregularities have had no impact on election. Thus, it is not worth addressing.

The Right argues that all Americans who are legally eligible to vote should be able to vote and have that vote count. The Right further argues the perception of fraud keeps people from voting as they do not trust the system. In addition, fraudulent voters neutralize legal votes thus affecting the outcome of an election.

Judicial Watch has put out information that should clarify the issue for those willing to listen and learn. Pew Research, a non -partisan think tank, indicates Nationally, 24 million voter registration cards are either, inaccurate, out of date, or duplicated. Some 2.8 million people are registered in 2 or more states. In addition, as many as 1.8 million registered voters are dead. Think of the potential from these figures.  Remember, there have been state elections in North Carolina that were decided by less than 100 votes.

Old Dominion University in 2014 released research that included 14 % of foreign nationals was registered to vote in US elections. Further 6.4% of them voted in 2008 and 2.2% of them voted in the 2012 election. In fact the authors conclude that in the case of North Carolina non- citizens voting changed the results of the NC Electoral College delivering the State to Obama. In addition they conclude non- citizens led to Democratic victories in several Congressional races. This includes the one that lead to a 60 vote filibuster proof majority in the US Senate.

Remember that jury duty is based on the voting rolls. In 2005 the Government Accountability office found about 3% of the voters called for Jury duty in a single US District Court were not US citizens. Further, Judicial Watch investigation in 2017 found that voter registration exceeded the number citizens over the age of 18 in 462 Counties. 15 counties reported voter registration to be more than their total population.

Voter ID sounds like a step in the right direction to make our elections more honest. Yet the Left fights it with all their might. They claim it will hurt minority voting. Yet Judicial Watch reports 2/3 of all Afro Americans support Voter ID. 2/3 of the Hispanic and liberals support Voter ID. In fact their study found 2/3 of those who consider themselves to be Democrats support Voter ID.

I do not feel in necessary to drag out the list of things you need a Picture ID to do. However it is necessary for us to stand up and fight for Voter ID in North Carolina. Fair and Honest Elections depend on it. I know his issue is currently again in our courts. However, there are things we can do to help keep the election honest. Volunteer to be a poll worker or a least a poll watcher. Put a team together and ask for lists of registered Voters in your area.  One area that worked in the past was to compare those registered to those who asked to be released from Jury Duty since they did not live in the County. Make the issue visible by writing letters to the editor or calling local shows and expressing concerns.

This election is important at all levels. Federally voter fraud can help change the control of the Congress. Statewide, voter fraud can change the Republican majority and allow Democrats to undo the good things the Republicans have accomplished. Locally, voter fraud can change the winners and allow Democrats to undo the tax cuts put in place by the Republicans.

Voter ID is important for the protection of our elections. Time to fight for it!!!!
